Silver Bullet Announces New Check Scanner Monitoring Product
Scout™ tracks MICR, image and check scanner quality remotely
PENSACOLA, FL, March 22, 2007 - Silver Bullet Technology announced today the release of Scout™, a
groundbreaking new product for the remote monitoring of check scanner productivity.
Scout is a web-based system which remotely monitors the health of check scanners, receipt printers,
and other devices. Devices can be monitored from a central location whether they are down the street
or halfway around the world. Graphical visualizations and web-based reports provide at-a-glance
displays of data quality per scanner and the quality of the scanner itself. Viewing charts of current
and historic data to see trends that highlight trouble areas allows problems to be detected and fixed
before they affect the end user. With automatic email alerts, proactive user training, and hardware service,
Scout increases the overall effectiveness and efficiency of scanning operations.
"This new product is another example of Silver Bullet's continuing commitment to innovation, and its strategy
for delivering tools which revolutionize the banking industry," said Bryan Clark, CEO of Silver Bullet.
"Scout is of huge benefit to financial institutions that have thousands of scanners deployed in the field," said
Rick Schwab, director of sales for Silver Bullet. "With the automatic reporting that Scout provides, banks now have
access to real-time scanner performance data. By proactively addressing scanner health, they will avoid inconvenience
to their customers and dramatically increase customer satisfaction. Decreasing the number of unnecessary field service
visits will help to create a competitive advantage by lowering the total cost of ownership of their products."
Scout is equally effective when used with systems deployed inside a bank or in the hands of remote deposit customers.
It can be configured to report out-of-spec performance, jams, degrading capabilities, and common maintenance issues
that result from a lack of operator maintenance. When used in combination with Silver Bullet's Peacemaker™ product,
Scout can also be configured to send alerts when a device drops below a pre-set data quality threshold for MICR
misreads, MICR rejects and image quality.
