Silver Bullet's Ranger® Software Now Available for Unisys SmartSource™ Series Check Scanners

PENSACOLA, FL, November 18, 2008 - Today at the BAI Retail Banking Conference & Expo in Orlando, FL, Silver Bullet Technology, Inc. announced that its Ranger® Transport API product is now available for Unisys SmartSource™ series check scanners.

Ranger Transport API is a software tool that allows banks to use virtually any item processing software with virtually any check scanning hardware. Ranger provides the flexibility to use check scanners manufactured by different vendors, without application changes. Financial institutions also gain greater control over system configuration, since they can mix and match different types of item processing software with check scanner hardware.

The Unisys SmartSource™ series scanners' size and early front image capture makes it a great fit for merchants to convert items to images for subsequent financial institution processing with a significant reduction in problem items compared to other scanners. Its optional ability to also read OCR scan-lines provides the flexibility to use the device in remittance environments such as utility payment offices, insurance agent offices, or Secretary of State Branch offices. In addition, the wide range of speeds allows the user to select the specific device that meets their processing requirements, from very low daily volume to several thousand items per day.
